Freedom First on Team Selected for Invest Health Initiative

The City of Roanoke has been selected to take part in the new Invest Health initiative aimed at transforming how leaders from mid-size American cities work together to help low-income communities thrive. Roanoke’s team comprises representatives from Roanoke College, the City of Roanoke, Freedom First Credit Union, United Way of Roanoke Valley, and Local Environmental Agriculture Project (LEAP).

TAP Hope Fest 2016

Scoop will be attending this great event. Hope Fest is a one-day music festival and Independence Day celebration taking place on Saturday, July 2, 2016. This event is intended to bring together people of all ages from all walks of life, while making a positive and enriching economic and cultural impact in Roanoke. Hope Fest will bring live music, food and beverages, craft vendors, a kids zone, tribute to the troops and more to Roanoke’s Elmwood Park.
