Freedom First is proud to announce the hiring of Susan Larkin as Vice President of Community Banking. She brings over 20 years of experience in banking, with a particular focus of working with non-profit organizations. Through outreach and business development efforts, Larkin will be connecting non-profits, churches, businesses, and philanthropic individuals to Freedom First’s programs that improve the quality of life of individuals and local communities.

Larkin received her Bachelors of Arts from James Madison University, majoring in English and receiving a minor in Communications. She is very involved in the local non-profit community and serves in many leadership positions, including Vice President of the Board of Directors of the West End Center for Youth, a Member of the Community Advisory Board and a Sustainer of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley, and a Member of the Roanoke Women’s Foundation, additionally serving on its grants review committee. She also is a volunteer at the Goodwill Industries of the Roanoke Valley. Susan and her husband, Pete, live in Southwest County in Roanoke and have one son who will be a freshman at Virginia Tech in the School of Architecture + Design.
