SCAM ALERT - Phishing Scam by Text Messaging

We have recently learned of a phishing scam that is being perpatrated on individuals in the Roanoke area. People are receiving a text message from a number claiming to be a financial instituion. The message states that an unauthorized transaction has been made on their account and includes a link to a phishing site trying to collect their information.

In order to identify a scam, take note of the following:
