Every year on Columbus Day, Freedom First employees gather to give back to the community. In years past we have fundraised for Make-A-Wish Virginia, worked at Goodwill Industries, public schools, local non-profits, and faith organizations. In 2017 Freedom First will be focused on local Veteran organizations like the American Legion #3 in Salem. A plastic bag recycle drive is underway and in partnership with Trex Corporation, a picnic bench will soon be donated for use by our local Vets.
You can also learn the many other ways Freedom First helps veterans and our under-served populations. Watch this Multipliers of Prosperity video to see how Freedom First made a difference in Andrew's life and the lives of our members and others in our Valleys.
Check out our nationally recognized grants program, our academic scholarships, and some of our Impact Banking products and services. More than 48,000 people who live and work in the Roanoke and New River Valleys choose to “bank for good” every time they stop in a branch, log in to online banking, and use one of the thousands of free ATMs in our network.
Freedom First supports the efforts of community action agencies to break down barriers, enable people to fully participate as local citizens, and help families achieve economic success and a better quality of life. Our award-winning Community Grants program supports projects that give special consideration to low-income working families.
